With great pride, the X Brazilian Congress of Crustaceans presents the first edition of the project "The fantastic world of crustaceans" - whose main objective is to popularize some knowledge about crustaceans for society. This action will be carried out during the Semana Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia (SNCT), on 17 and 18 of October, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the "Prof. Petrônio Alves Coelho" Oceanography Museum of the Federal University of Pernambuco.

    "The fantastic world of crustaceans," will be developed as a means of scientific dissemination, which aims to promote the understanding of carcinology by ordinary citizens, through differentiated, playful and active forms of learning. Making the teaching of this science more enjoyable and promoting interest and an approximation of society with scientific knowledge.

    During the activities, the importance of crustaceans in the diverse ecosystems of the planet and the great diversity of shapes, colors and sizes will be exposed in thematic stands, lectures and short films. From this new format of activity associated to the CBC, it is hoped to stimulate scientific literacy and social insertion of the citizens of the communities in the next congresses, as well as to spread knowledge about crustaceans in our country.
